(R)evolution - Message to Israelis in Palestine (3/3)
Společenský komentář
Twinkle twinkle little star, your light will outshine any bar, or wall, or fence they lock you in, you’re here to stay, you don’t give in
In my last two messages, I spoke about humanity and what it looks like when people lose it. This foundation was essential to explain why I believe Israeli society has nearly lost its humanity entirely—just as, to varying degrees, much of our current global civilization has. Today, I want to pose some questions and illuminate possible pathway for Israelis.
It doesn’t matter to me whether you identify as jewish, muslim, christian, zionist, black, gay, or any other label. First and foremost, you are a human. Yet it seems this fundamental truth has been forgotten by many in Israel.
How else can one explain the atrocities your nation has been committing for decades, all under your watch as its citizens? No matter how you frame it, Israel is engaging in aggressive expansion into hostile territories, met with resistance from the displaced population, just like in any other colonial project. How would you react if you were in the Palestinians' position? Wouldn’t you defend yourself by any means necessary?
In many ways, Israel’s actions are even more blatant than those of Nazi Germany. But the blame doesn’t rest solely on Israel. As a planetary society, we have failed you by allowing such crimes to persist in plain sight for so long without seriously confronting you about it.
As I mentioned in my first message, we have decided to right these wrongs. Israel will be stopped, and it is up to Israeli society to decide how this story unfolds. What legacy do you wish to leave for your children? Will it be the one of strength and restored honor, or one of perpetual victimhood and denial—a cycle of suffering that ultimately harms your own people?
If you claim to have a right to take land that isn’t yours by force cause of own interpretation in a holy book, why not follow the rest of its teachings? Thou shalt not kill. Yet, I see indiscriminate mass murders of innocents normalized to the extent that soldiers post TikToks of it.
Thou shalt not steal. And yet, I see you stealing land, homes, and even wealth from Palestinians who simply just wish to escape the genocide you are committing—just as Hitler once did to Jewish people. You are stealing from families who desire only peace while confining them like cattle for nearly a century.
Thou shalt not bear false witness. Yet your government propagates lies daily to justify crimes like the destruction of hospitals such as Al-Shifa. The list of these lies could fill a book. Instead, let’s focus on how you can rewrite your narrative and break free from this self-destructive cycle. Lets start with - thou shalt understand that these commendment were supposed to stop you from all of the things Israel is commiting right now.
In every compelling story, there is a villain. In this case, the villain is the state of Israel and its leadership. While this doesn’t mean that every Israeli is a villain, the lack of a voice of any meaningful opposition to the regime’s actions paints the entire nation in such light. Protests that focus solely on a hostage deal, rather than stopping the genocide, ethnic cleansings, and apartheid, are insufficient. My hope is that these protests are just a safe way to express wider dissent — if so, they must go much further.
Soon, the international community will be forced to intervene —first with full blown trade embargoes and, if necessary, with military actions. Those complicit in genocide and other serious crimes will face trial by the International courts in Hague and modern Israeli Jews will find themselves immortalized in museums as monsters for all eternity.
However, there is another path—one of redemption. Imagine a nation lost in darkness, brought upon by its leaders and the trauma of Holocaust, rising up in its darkest hour to confront own crimes and reclaiming its humanity. Imagine Israelis giving up their pride by accepting difficult truths about themselves, taking matters into own hands and stopping their government from committing further horrors.
In this story, those who face justice do so with honor, and history remembers Israelis not only for their criminals but also for their heroes who stood against own government for something bigger than themselves – truth, love and humanity. This is a legacy worth carrying. In my opinion far better narrative than perpetuating the notion of being “God’s chosen people” persecuted by an unjust “jealous” rest of the world for all eternity...
If you want to write the brighter version, there is little time. The Israeli government must be stopped before international pressure makes change appear forced rather than voluntarily. By my estimation, the window for meaningful actions closes by the end of February.
The fall of the current Israeli government should not be difficult and can happen quickly if the will of the people aligns against it—just as it did with the fall of the Soviet Union and its satellites. To this end, all peaceful tools available are to be used. Bring forth any possible criminal complaints against your government officials.
Organize widespread, prolonged strikes with daily public protests until the government is forced to step down. These actions will be especially powerful if state employees, sanitation services and industries benefiting from genocide participate. Unlike many other nations, Israel is in a unique position: that if the state moves aggressively against its own citizens, it will lose its last remaining international support, and the world will come to your aid quickly. Because of that, you are safer than most anti-system movements and violence won't be needed.
While protests on large squares serve to demonstrate broad support, you can also disrupt the system in more targeted ways. Are there factories producing weapons for the front lines where workers have not joined the strike? Protest and blockade those facilities so that weapons cannot leave. Block military outposts or roads to prevent soldiers from reaching war zones. Be brave and creative—God will guide your hands. My hopes lie with Israeli students, who are often the most connected to the outside world and may see most clearly the injustices of their government. However, they cannot succeed alone; others must stand with them.
Another way to undermine the system is through financial resistance. Why not stop paying taxes entirely? Do you pay rent or other fees to the state? Cease these payments. I also recommend withdrawing cash (for a while USD will work the best) to sustain you for a few months in case the government decides to freeze your assets as well as putting some of your money into crypto that you can easily liquidate or use for transactions if needed. Speak publicly about Israeli crimes and I would even ask resistance forces to cease attacks during the national strikes. Just show the world that your intentions are rooted in justice and humanity, not self-interest.
As Israel is a signatory to the Genocide Convention and other treaties, use these as part of your defense as refusing to partake in genocide by sabotaging the state. Challenge anyone who opposes you to take you to court. Trust me, you will almost certainly never see a courtroom. And if so, once the dust settles, you will be pardoned.
The world does not need more meaningless violence, bloodshed, and destruction; we have had enough of that. That is why I am not calling for revolution but instead an evolution. While self-defense is understandable, do your utmost to avoid physical conflict and never escalate first. The system will attempt to provoke and blame protesters—be prepared for this. Some of you might spend months in jail; this, too, will not be in vain.
If the government refuses to step down after weeks of strikes and protests, shift your demands to the army and police. Call on them to arrest the government, immediately halt the wars, bring the army home, and focus solely on defending against missile threats and protecting borders. Demand the invitation of international investigators to uncover the truth about what all has happened and continues to happen in Israel. Insist that the government be handed over to international courts and invite UN forces to oversee the transition. Protest and strike until the demands are met, no state can withstand longer periods of such behavior by its own citizens if they are in numbers.
Finally, I want to address a point that might be initially dismissed as antisemitism, but I urge you to consider deeply anyway. As mentioned earlier, systemic issues go beyond Israel. Due to historical circumstances, many Jewish communities obtain huge influence over the western monetary system, which extends to news, entertainment, business, international institutions, politics and more.
All essential parts of our dishonest, broken system, that is rotten to its core. One that makes slaves out of almost all of its participants and the state of Israel represents just the pinnacle of its wickedness. Addressing this issue is much bigger than Israel itself; it demands a fundamental restructuring of international institutions to ensure all voices are heard and all nations and corporations are held accountable. It will also demand changes in how our money, taxes, democracy, media and other parts of society function.
Of course, this system is not upheld by Jewish people alone. As a whole global society, we have failed to confront it, making us complicit. This is why broader societal reforms will happen alongside the dismantling of Israel.
I publish this article on January 2nd because I do not believe in New Year’s resolutions. Every day is a new beginning, presenting the choice to continue as before or to change. What kind of story will you write, and what are you willing to sacrifice for it?
Freedom, truth, justice and humanity are worth fighting for. Until Palestine is free, none of us are truly free; we are all subjects to this inhumane, dystopian system. If you won't fight it, there is a high probability that no one else will. But remember, you do not have to fight it alone.
God is the greatest
PS: This is possibly not my last message to you, depending on how things go, I might contact you again. Good luck and be brave! I have similar task ahead of me in Egypt.
